Why were brands trying so hard to manufacture authenticity when real customer recommendations already existed everywhere?

In group chats.

Over dinner.

In comments.

On long walks.

Between friends.

Most of us already trust people more than ads.

But somewhere along the way, discovering brands online became less about real experiences and more about algorithms, polished content, and whoever could pay for attention.

We thought there had to be a better way.

Real people over polished influence

Recommendations feel different when they come from someone you actually relate to.

Discovery should feel personal

Taste, lifestyle, values, and life stage all shape what’s right for us.

Brands join the conversation

Not as owners of the space — but as participants in it.

How Amador started

How Amador started

How Amador started

Amador originally started as a way for brands to better connect with their happiest customers.

We’d felt the pain personally and professionally. Working with SMEs and startups, we’d seen thousands of dollars go to waste on mismatched paid promotions that didn’t land — campaigns handed to influencers with the wrong audience, or content that hit reach targets but never moved a single customer. And as consumers ourselves, we’d searched for honest recommendations only to be served whatever the highest-paying brand had put in front of us. Not what we were actually after.

Meanwhile, customers were already naturally talking about brands they loved every single day.

That gap felt strange.

Why was so much effort going into manufacturing authenticity when real trust already existed?

The deeper we looked, the clearer the shift became. People were becoming overwhelmed by:

Why was so much effort going into manufacturing authenticity when real trust already existed?

The deeper we looked, the clearer the shift became. People were becoming overwhelmed by:

• anonymous reviews
• generic search results
• polished influencer culture
• sponsored recommendations
• endless content without context

At the same time, discovery itself was changing. People now search through TikTok, AI tools, Reddit, group chats, and trusted recommendations long before they ever search a brand name directly.

The brands people discover first often become the brands they remember.

That’s when Amador became something bigger than a brand tool.

A trust and discovery network built around real people and genuine recommendation.

What we believe

What we believe

What we believe

01

Recommendations are more useful with context

Who’s giving the recommendation matters.

02

Trust matters more than reach

People trust real experiences more than polished advertising.

03

Customers aren’t “content creators”

They’re people with opinions, routines, preferences, and stories worth sharing.

04

Discovery is changing

The future belongs to brands people genuinely remember and recommend.

05

The conversation belongs to people

That’s what keeps the trust intact.

06

Brands deserve a way to respond

When someone tags you on Instagram or leaves a Google review, you should be able to invite them into your own space.

What we’re building

What we’re building

Amador is building a more human way to discover brands. A place where:

● people discover brands through likeminded people
● recommendations feel personal again
● customer trust compounds over time
● everyday experiences become genuinely valuable
● brands grow through real advocacy instead of manufactured attention

Less noise. More trust. More context. More real people helping each other find great things.

Built for people first.

Built for people first.

Brands help fund the ecosystem. But the network belongs to the people using it.

That principle shapes everything we build.

Because the moment recommendations feel manipulated, over-managed, or transactional — the trust disappears.

And without trust, none of this works.
